Adversity Week 5
Philippians 1:9-11 says, “And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” We have to realize that regardless of how the world treats you, God’s love abounds. When friends turn to foes and fraudulently fabricate about the faithful, God’s love abounds. Sickness surrounds your soul, but you succeed still because God’s love abounds. The love of God conquers all because Christ suffered for that love. You mean to tell me that bullies hurt people, but God’s love can heal? It causes a man to leave heaven to come to earth.
Do you genuinely think being a part of the nasty click will bring you acceptance? It causes God to put on flesh and be born in a stable (Luke 2:1-20). Buying tickets to a luxurious church banquet is necessary for fellowship, but you don’t even have enough money to buy food for your household? Then you should know that God’s love fed 5000 men along with the women and children (Matthew 14:13-21). Do you believe fear can be a cancer in you? Didn’t God’s love sacrifice His Son so you wouldn’t have the spirit of fear but of power, of love, and of a sound mind? Love abounds because it causes the power of the Most High to raise His Son out of a borrowed tomb and give life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). We will have trouble, but His love is the solution. We persevere so we can pursue the prize of the higher calling. We suffer like everyone else, but we weep not as those without hope.
Love will always sustain and satisfy us. We overcome death, divorce, depression, and deprivation because His love delivers, develops, and determines the victory. People can irritate, but His love invigorates. Jobs can be demanding, but His love disperses anointing, strength, and empowerment for the believer. We know when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord lifts up a standard. The enemy can cut, but you will heal. The enemy can cuss, but you will transcend. The enemy can plot, but you will overcome. As long as love abounds, no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
