Adversity Week 4
Look for the Anointing
The best antidote to struggle is the anointing from God. The anointing is why Christ is Christ. The anointing allows arguments and agitation not to annoy a person. The anointing helps to deliver people from depression and despair. The anointing works because the anointing enlightens individuals. 1 John 2:27 says, “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” So, let haters hate. Debaters disturb. Perpetrators proceed. The anointing allows one to overcome, outsmart, outdo, and overthrow the attacks of the enemy.
What is even more important is that you need to know where the anointing is. Seek first the kingdom of heaven and His righteousness; then all these other things will be added unto you, like the anointing (Matthew 6:33). To find the anointing, study and show yourself approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things, like the anointing, have come (2 Corinthians 5:17). We must know that without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him with the anointing (Hebrews 11:6).
Some scholars would argue that I added to the text. How does one receive from God then? They must be connected, compliant, called, and then chosen (Matthew 22:14). God owns, distributes, and controls His anointing; thus, we should look for Him. Look to the hills from whence comes your help; David clears, clarifies, and confirms that his help comes from the Lord. Not the White House, but the one who holds the government upon His shoulders. Not the Carters or Oprah, because we Christians are to set our mind on things above, not on things on the earth. The anointing heals the sick. The anointing helps the saints. Lastly, the anointing is held by the Savior. Look to Jesus, and He shall supply all your needs according to His riches and glory. That means He will provide you with what you need because His grace is sufficient, and we have never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging for bread (2 Corinthians 12:9, Psalm 37:25).
