Reverend Dr. Edwin B. Alston is the proud and supportive husband of LaToya M. Alston and the devoted father of three gifted children- Sierra Leone, Lauryn Michelle, and Brandon Thomas. He is the founder of and lead author for EL Ministries based in Memphis, TN, which was created to help all people in “Balancing Breakthroughs and Breaking Boundaries.”

Dr. Alston is a native of Memphis, TN, and a 1997 graduate of Bartlett High School. He then attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications. During his time at UT Knox, Dr. Alston served on the Black Cultural Programming Committee and became a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. His education continued at Liberty University School of Divinity in Lynchburg, VA, where he earned two degrees- a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Preaching and his Doctorate in Ministry.

Dr. Alston accepted his calling into the ministry and began preaching in March of 1999. His ordination took place shortly before his union with his wife in 2005. Since then, his gifts have certainly made room for him. He has made several appearances on television and other live broadcasts and has been the guest speaker at churches around the country. In addition to authoring literary works for EL Ministries, Dr. Alston is penning other manuscripts soon to be published. After more than 20 years of ministry, his passion for God’s work, His people, and the yearning to study God’s Word are even greater than when he first began.

Currently, Dr. Alston is an associate minister at Hope Fellowship Church in Memphis, TN (Dr. Timothy Jackson, Pastor) and a Spiritual Health Advisor for a nonprofit medical facility. Because of his love for education, he is a professor at the Tennessee School of Religion, where he teaches multiple courses. Dr. Alston strives to promote growth among all people by spreading the Word of God to all nations.
